PINK TULIP

Tulips say Romance and Elegance. My new painting of a single tulip says both with its antique gold filigree and rich green backdrop.

I hope that you enjoy my gold filigree technique. I used gold gesso, a very thick water-based paint, rolled it out with a brayer, used a special filigree stamp, then stamped it under my watercolor and, for parts, on top of it. Try it. It's fun!

The pomegranate is mentioned in ancient texts of the Bible and Homer. It's valued for its beauty and versatility as a fruit with medicinal qualities, It also is a symbol of prosperity, fruitfulness, and ambition, with many myths and religious meanings ascribed to it. That's what drew me to create this watercolor, showing the stunning fruit growing on its small tree. I hope that you enjoy the fine art reproduction made from my original painting.

With all of the snow we've been getting, I thought that you would enjoy seeing two of my watercolors, "Birch Trees in Early Snow" and "Birch Trees in Snow of Winter."

They show large stands of birch trees that were partially burried in an early snow. These trees highlight the evergreen forest on the mountains in the background. The sky has a glow that often comes in the crisp, cold of winter. I hope that you will enjoy them.
