"THE ROSE BOWL" WATERCOLOR PROGRESSES

This week, I finally found the time to continue working on my bowl of roses watercolor painting.  My inspiration is the rose bush that gives me a continuous bounty of blossoms from spring until late autumn.

I started this time with deepening the shadows of the petals to give more excitment and depth to the flowers. I've also lightened the tips of some petals to show where the light would hit it.

The bowl is even more of a challenge. I'm trying to capture its rustic look, show the light and reflections of the petals, and give a sense of the surface textures.

I'm welcoming all suggestions!
