I've always loved the little dogwood tree that has been growing outside my front door for many years. The shape of the tree, the structure of the brances, the changing colors and shapes of the leaves, and the beautiful red berries have always inspired me. Serenity, solitude, and peace, with greens and blues, are the feelings I had when I painted this scene. With the small boat pulled up to the shore, pine trees back to the horizon, a lake reflecting the blue sky, what can be a better place for relaxation?
